You won’t find the Cubs (54-72) as the favourites very often anymore, except when they play the Rockies (57-67) at home, of course.
Colorado has been an outstanding bet at Coors Field this year, but they’ve also been a very profitable team to bet again when playing on the road.
At 14-45, the Rockies have the second-worst away record in the league, which has me leaning towards the Cubs with their ace Kyle Hendricks (14-5) on the mound.
Although wins don’t mean a thing, the veteran righty currently leads the league in the category following last week’s 2-1 win over the Reds.
The Cubs are determined to bounce back after being swept by the Kansas City Royals in their three-game series at Wrigley Field over the weekend.
The Rockies, meanwhile, are coming off an 8-4 home loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday that snapped their five-game winning streak. Antonio Senzatela (2-9) will take the mound for Colorado. The Venezuelan right-hander has lost his last four decisions and hasn't picked up a win since June.
