The Dallas Mavericks will attempt to get their first win against the Phoenix Suns in nearly two years in their duel at the Footprint Center on Wednesday.

Jason Kidd’s boys are inspired ahead of their four-game trip having won five of their last six games.

They beat the Denver Nuggets 111-101 on Monday. Kristaps Porzingis had 29 points and 11 rebounds while Luka Doncic finished with 23 points and 11 assists to lead the Mavericks (9-4).

The bad news for Dallas is Doncic will not be able to play against the Suns after he sustained an ankle injury in their last game. He will join Maxi Kleber on the sidelines.

Doncic is averaging a team-high 24.9 points so his absence is a big blow to Dallas.

The Suns (10-3) made it nine wins in a row following their 99-96 triumph at Minnesota on Monday to end their three-game trip on a high note.

Devin Booker scored 29 points while Deandre Ayton added 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead Phoenix. Chris Paul scored 19 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter.

Frank Kaminsky is game-time decision for the Suns due to a knee injury.

The Suns have beaten the Mavericks in their last six meetings. Dallas last won a game in the series on November 29, 2019.
