Champions Bayern Munich get the new Bundesliga season under way with a trip to Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday night.
Julian Nagelsmann replaced Hansi Flick as head coach at the Allianz Arena and his new charges are 8/15 to get the campaign off to a winning start.
They are just 1/7 for a successful title defence, so let’s check out some of the markets and odds in our Gladbach v Bayern betting tips.

It’s all change at Bayern who not only have a new man at the helm but they start the new campaign without David Alaba, Javi Martinez and Jerome Boateng.
Nagelsmann has raided his former club Leipzig to sign French defender Dayot Upamecano and thankfully for the champions talk of Robert Lewandowski leaving for Real Madrid has died down.
There is also a new manager in charge of Bayern’s opponents, with Adi Hutter leaving Eintracht Frankfurt to replace Marco Rose who upgraded to join Borussia Dortmund.
Gladbach, 80/1 for Bundesliga glory this season, finished eighth last season but have not made too many additions, the highlight of which involved attacking midfielder Hannes Wolf joining from Leipzig for around £8.5million.
Although Lewandowski scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 home win last season, Gladbach’s second-string side beat a Bayern team packed with fringe players 2-0 in a friendly at the end of July but of more significance is the fact they have won this fixture two years in a row, so they are priced at 21/5 for a repeat, 18/5 to draw or 11/2 to win and concede as they did in those victories.
Both wins came by one-goal margins which is available at 13/2, but the visitors still look strong despite the loss of key players and can be backed at 27/20 to win with goals at both ends as one of our Gladbach v Bayern betting tips.
Bayern won 24 of their 34 games last season and all four defeats came away from home, but only Frankfurt had a higher both teams to score record.
Bayern failed to win any of their pre-season friendlies which they concluded with a 3-0 home defeat by Napoli.
Nagelsmann fielded his strongest possible side which saw Lewandowski flanked by Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman in attack, with Goretzka, Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala in midfield in a 4-3-3 formation.
Hutter went with a 4-1-4-1 against Bayern in July’s warm-up during which teenager Mika Schroers led the line, although he was nowhere to be seen for the final pres-season friendly, a 1-0 win at Kaiserslautern in which Lars Stindl was the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1.
Lewandowski broke Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga record with 41 goals last season so it comes as no surprise that the Polish sensation is 15/8 to break the deadlock as he did in both games last season, while he is just 4/9 to score.
Gnabry and Thomas Muller are 6/1 and 21/10 in the same markets, while we go 17/2 and 14/5 on former Manchester City winger Sane getting in on the act. Coman is 11/1 and 7/2.
Stindl is the 7/1 favourite from the Gladbach team to get the opening goal or 12/5 to score, but Jonas Hofmann looks an interesting option at 10/1 and 10/3 in both markets having bagged a double in last season’s 3-2 victory over Bayern.
