With both teams in good form, this looks set to be a cracker. Brighton enjoy playing expansive, attacking football, which often leaves them open at the back.
Under Rafael Benitez, Everton look to have become a much more attacking side than they were under Carlo Ancelotti.
The summer signings of Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend have given the Toffees a new attacking edge. Richarlison’s attacking prowess is well known, as is Calvert-Lewin’s finishing, so these signings look to have been particularly astute.
Everton are not without their own defensive vulnerability. Michael Keane has had a tough start to the season and has already been on the wrong end of a couple of lapses in concentration.
Brighton struggled badly at home last season, winning just four games at the Amex in the Premier League. They’ve got the fans back now though, and home teams are expected to fare much better than they did last season.
Both teams were also successful in the EFL Cup in midweek. Brighton beat Championship side Cardiff 2-0, while Everton snuck past Huddersfield 2-1 despite going down to ten men.
Jordan Pickford has continued his fine form on the back of his superb Euro 2020 performances for England. Despite conceding in each game so far, he’s pulled off numerous saves to keep the Blues in those games.
The Seagulls have scored six goals in their three competitive games to date, with Everton scoring seven. With both sides seemingly enjoying a more attacking approach, this could result in an end-to-end match.
Brighton vs Everton Betting Tips
After their good start to the season, Brighton are slight favourites to win at 7/5 in our Brighton v Everton match bets.
The last meeting between these clubs ended all square. If you think this game will end in a draw, you can back that at 11/5.
Everton’s away form last season was one of the best in the league. They also came close to beating Leeds on the road last week. The visitors are priced up at 17/8 to win this game.
As good a start as Brighton have had, this will be their hardest game yet. Everton are looking revitalised and with a new attacking line up could cause problems for the hosts.
