Russia and Croatia face off in Split in their final game in Group H of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.

The Russians lead the group with 22 points from nine games while the Croatians are second with 20 points.

Russia just need a draw to book a ticket to next year's tournament in Qatar. Croatia, on the other hand, must win to get an outright berth in the prestigious competition. The runner-up in the group will have another chance to enter the World Cup through the play-offs.

Russia and Serbia's first confrontation in Moscow in September ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Russians have won their last five games where they conceded just one goal. Valeri Karpin's side beat Cyprus 6-0 in Saint Petersburg on Thursday where Aleksandr Yerokhin recorded a brace. Fyodor Smolov, Andrei Mostovoy, Aleksey Sutormin and Anton Zabolotn also scored.

Croatia are unbeaten in their last eight qualifiers. Zlatko Dalic's side thrashed Malta 7-1 on Thursday with Lovro Majer leading the way with two goals.

Ivan Perisic, Duje Caleta-Car, Mario Pasalic, Luka Modric and Andrej Kramaric also scored.
