Genoa and Sampdoria are both coming off back-to-back losses so they are determined to win their clash in the Italian Serie A on Friday.
Genoa are languishing in the relegation zone with just 10 points from 16 games.
Andriy Shevchenko's side suffered defeats to AC Milan (3-0) and Juventus (2-0) in their last two games. This is Genoa’s third loss in their last four games and they have not won in their last 13 outings.
Stefano Sturaro, Nicolo Rovella, Felipe Caicedo, Domenico Criscito, Mattia Destro, Mohamed Fares and Nikola Maksimovic will not play here due to injury.
Sampdoria are coming off defeats against Fiorentina (3-1) and Lazio (3-1). Manolo Gabbiadini scored in those games and he is once again expected to lead the Blucerchiati against Genoa. Roberto D'Aversa's side are in 15th place with 15 points.
Ernesto Torregrossa, Mikkel Damsgaard and Ronaldo Vieira will not feature for Sampdoria in this contest. Omar Colley will return from suspension.
