Manchester City are out to impress anew when they host strugglers Burnley at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

After losing their opening game of the Premier League season at Tottenham, Pep Guardiola’s boys have embarked on a six-game unbeaten streak, which includes a 1-0 win at Chelsea and a 2-2 draw at Liverpool.

They are two points adrift of leaders Chelsea and boast the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League, conceding just three goals and keeping five clean sheets.

Across all competitions, Man City have lost only once in their last nine matches with their only blemish coming at PSG in the Champions League.

Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres, who both have two goals in the Premier League, are the focal points of Man City’s attacks. Jesus, however, may not feature due to his late return from international duty while Torres is out with a broken foot.

Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and defender Oleksandr Zinchenko could feature after recovering from their injuries.

Burnley are still searching for their first win, having drawn three games and lost four, and they subsequently sit 18th in the table as pressure builds on Sean Dyche.

The consolation for the Clarets was they were able to earn points in their last two games against Leicester (2-2) and Norwich City (0-0). Prior to those draws, they crushed Rochdale 4-1 in the League Cup (Carabao Cup) with Jay Rodriguez scoring all goals.

Defenders Maxwel Cornet and Charlie Taylor and striker Matej Vydra will face late fitness tests along with midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson. Defender Ben Mee and midfielder Dale Stephens Mee are ruled out.

City have won the last eight editions of this fixture across all competitions, keeping seven clean sheets and scoring 29 goals in the process. The Citizens won at Burnley 2-0 back in February in the last meeting between the two sides.

This should be a routine win for Man City so we are backing them to cover the handicap.
