Manchester City got back on the winning track in the English Premier League before the international break so they are inspired ahead of their home match against Everton on Sunday.

The Citizens beat Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford to make up for their unexpected defeat at Crystal Palace in their previous game. Pep Guardiola's side took an early lead after Eric Bailly scored an own goal before Bernardo Silva sealed the win before half-time.

It was Man City's third triumph in their last four league games to move up to second place with 23 points from 11 games.

Jack Grealish is unlikely to feature here while Cole Palmer, Samuel Edozie, Liam Delap and Ferrán Torres are still out. Aymeric Laporte will return from suspension.

Everton drew 0-0 against Tottenham in their last game to snap their three-match losing streak. The Toffees dropped to 11th place in the table with 15 points.

Mason Holgate is suspended after getting a red card in their last game while Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes have injuries and they are both doubtful here.

Thomas Davies, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are not expected to play for Rafa Benitez's side.

Man City have beaten Everton in their last eight meetings. The Toffees last won a game in the series back in 2017.

Verdict

We look forward to a win to nil for Man City in this game.
