Having secured the top spot in Group F of the Champions League, Manchester United are just aiming to avenge their surprise defeat to Young Boys in Round 1 when the two teams square off at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 loss in Bern back in September with Jordy Siebatcheu snatching the game winner in injury time. Cristiano Ronaldo put the visitors on top in the first half before Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu equalised in the second half.
United have since racked up three wins and a draw to sit atop of the group with 10 points, three clear of Villarreal whom they defeated 2-0 on the road in the last round.
Ralf Rangnick's boys are coming off home victories against Arsenal (3-2) and Crystal Palace (1-0) in the English Premier League.
Midfielder Jesse Lingard and forward Anthony Martial could be in contention while defender Luke Shaw and striker Edinson Cavani are doubtful. Centre-back Raphael Varane and midfielder Paul Pogba have both been ruled out of this contest.
Young Boys failed to win again following their upset triumph over Man United and they are no longer in contention for a place in the last 16 having just secured four points. The Swiss champions settled for a 3-3 draw against Atalanta in their last Champions League fixture to snap a three-game skid in the competition.
Young Boys couldn’t build on their 3-1 win against Lugano in the Swiss Super League and lost 2-1 at home to Servette in their last domestic match.
David Wagner’s side have lost three of five in the Super League and are winless in seven of their last eight in all competitions.
Strikers Jean-Pierre Nsame and Joël Monteiro and goalkeeper David von Ballmoos are all ruled out of this match due to injuries.
Midfield trio Fabian Rieder, Christian Fassnacht and Esteban Petignat are also unavailable along with defenders Cédric Zesiger and Ulisses Garcia.
