Struggling Newcastle United welcome Tottenham at St James' Park on Sunday.

The hosts have yet to taste victory this season, drawing three games and losing four, and they sit in a lowly 19th place with three points.

Newcastle suffered a 2-1 defeat at Wolverhampton in the last round. Jeff Hendrick equalised shortly before the break only for Hwang Hee-Chan to break the deadlock in the second half to deny the Magpies a point.

Midfielder Joe Willock and striker Callum Wilson should be fit for selection. Goalkeepers Martin Dubravka and Freddie Woodman and defender Jamaal Lascelles are back in contention. Defender Paul Dummett is still sidelined.

Tottenham broke their three-game losing streak in the Premier League when they beat Aston Villa 2-1 prior to the international break.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Ollie Watkins traded goals before an own goal from Matt Targett sealed the full three points for the Spurs, who are currently ranked eighth in the table with 12 points.

It’s Tottenham’s second consecutive win in all competitions following their 5-1 rout of Mura in the Europa Conference League where Harry Kane registered a hat-trick. The star striker, however, has yet to score in the Premier League this season.

Defenders Ben Davies, Christian Romero and Davinson Sanchez will face late fitness tests. Midfielder Steven Bergwijn and winger Giovani Lo Celso are likely to feature. Full backs Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon are doubtful.

The last two league meetings between these two have ended in draws, while Newcastle have failed to win any of their last four home games against Spurs.

A draw is expected and both teams to score.
