Italy are aiming to secure an outright World Cup berth on their visit to Northern Ireland in their final game in Group C of the qualifiers on Monday.

The Azzurri and Switzerland are tied at the top of the group with 15 points each with the Italians just ahead on goal difference. In case they fail to win here and the Swiss win against Bulgaria in their last game, Italy will have another chance to participate in next year's tournament in Qatar via the play-offs.

Italy beat Northern Ireland 2-0 in Parma in their first encounter back in March. Domenico Berardi and Ciro Immobile scored for the Italians in that contest.

Italy forced a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in Rome last Friday. Giovanni Di Lorenzo starred for Roberto Mancini's side after nailing the equaliser in the 36th minute.

Immobile will not feature in this important game due to injury. Nicolo Zaniolo, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Marco Verratti are also absent for the Italians.

Northern Ireland have no hope of getting into the World Cup and Ian Baraclough's side are just out to their campaign with another win.

The Green and White Army defeated Lithuania 1-0 last Friday. Benas Satkus' own goal gave them the win at Windsor Park.
