PSV Eindhoven vs Monaco Tips - Draw likely to happen

Eindhoven's Philips Stadion plays host to the top-of-the-table clash between PSV and Monaco in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

The two teams share the lead in Group B with four points apiece.

PSV are already involved in a ding-dong battle with Ajax at the top of the Eredivisie in which seven wins from nine have left them a point behind the champions.

Both teams drew with Real Sociedad but PSV were much more impressive than Monaco against Sturm Graz, winning 4-1 in Austria behind goals from Ibrahim Sangare, Eran Zahavi, Philipp Max and Yorbe Vertessen.

Roger Schmidt’s side followed up that annihilation with home victories over Sparta Rotterdam (2-1) and PEC Zwolle (3-1) in the Eredivisie.

Sangare is suspended while attacking midfielders Richard Ledezma and Ritsu Doan are also out because of injuries.

Monaco crushed Bordeaux 3-0 in Ligue 1 following their 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad with Aurelien Tchouameni, Aleksandr Golovin and Wissam Ben Yedder on target. However, they suffered a 2-0 defeat at Lyon last Saturday that ended their six-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

Tchouameni and Sofiane Diop are expected to return to Nico Kovac's starting XI after missing their last game because of suspensions. Right back Djibril Sidibé and midfielder Cesc Fàbregas are injured while Golovin is doubtful.

This is the first meeting between PSV and Monaco in a major competition since the 2005 Champions League.
