Israel have a number of defensive absentees and Scotland can take advantage and strengthen their grip on second spot in Group F.

Israel have been poor in two of their last three away matches and the hosts are tipped to maintain their strong home record.

Back-to-back 1-0 wins over Moldova and Austria have put Steve Clarke's Scotland back in control in second spot in Group F. Lyndon Dykes got the winner against Moldova and then struck home a penalty to secure the points in Austria.

The victories followed a 2-0 defeat at the hands of leaders Denmark, and moved Scotland back above Israel in the standings.

Grant Hanley is ruled out for Scotland after picking up his second yellow card of the campaign in the win over Austria. The Scots have 11 points, seven behind leaders Denmark.

The returning Scott McTominay is an option to plug the gap in defence. Callum McGregor and Stuart Armstrong are also back in the squad after injuries.

Scotland are without injured duo defender Greg Taylor and midfielder James Forrest, while goalkeeper Zander Clark and defender Declan Gallagher drop out of the squad.

Israel suffered a a heavy 5-0 defeat away to Denmark when last in action last month.

Willibald Ruttensteiner's wards started their campaign with a 2-0 loss to the Danes and a 1-1 draw with Scotland. But they recorded three straight wins afterwards with a 4-1 victory over Moldova, 4-0 success away to Faroe Islands and a 5-2 win at home to Austria. They are currently ranked third in the group with 10 points.

Israel are without defender Hatem Abd Elhamed through suspension following his late yellow card against Denmark.

Problems are mounting with goalkeeper Ariel Harush, defenders Eitan Tibi, Orel Dgani and Taleb Tawatha and midfielders Eyal Golasa, Omer Atzili and Mohammad Abu Fani all out injured. Defender Idan Nachmias has been controversially called up despite being injured.

Scotland hold a 4-2 head to head record against Israel with three draws. Three of the last four clashes have ended all square, including a 1-1 draw in the World Cup qualifiers back in March.

Scotland are tipped to take advantage of Israel's injury problems in defence and make it three wins in a row in qualifying.
