Round 11 of the English Premier League kicks off at St. Mary's Stadium on Friday with the match between Southampton and Aston Villa.

Southampton beat Watford 1-0 in their last game. Che Adams' goal in the 20th minute was enough for the Saints to get their second win of the season. They are currently 14th in the league with 11 points from 10 games.

Ralph Hasenhuttl's side have recorded two wins and one draw in their last three games.

Armando Broja and Jack Stephens remain out of action for Southampton.

Aston Villa have lost their last four games to drop to 15th place with 10 points.

The Villans suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of West Ham last week. Ollie Watkins tied the game in the 34th minute but Ezri Konsa received a red card in the 50th minute.

Douglas Luiz, Jacob Ramsey, Morgan Sanson and Trezeguet are not expected to play due to injury or illness. Danny Ings, Bertrand Traore and Jaden Philogene-Bidace are doubtful for Dean Smith's side.

Aston Villa beat Southampton 1-0 in their last meeting in January to end their four-game losing streak in the series.
