Formula One returns from its mid-season break with the thrilling championship battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen set to take centre stage as we look at some Belgium Grand Prix betting tips.

Seven-time world champion Hamilton has turned the standings on its head, with Verstappen’s 32-point lead wiped out after the Brit crashed into him at Silverstone before the Dutchman was affected by Valtteri Bottas’ first-lap error in Hungary.

All that means the teams head to Belgium with Hamilton eight points clear ahead of a pivotal triple-header.

Red Bull out to stop Mercedes momentum

Heading into Silverstone, Red Bull had control of the title race.

But that collision between the two title protagonists – which saw Hamilton penalised for crashing Verstappen out of the race – has changed the picture.

Hamilton’s second-place finish in Hungary with Verstappen ninth has restored his title lead and he will be determined to extend it with a fifth win at Spa.

Verstappen is sure to have the bulk of the support in Belgium at a track where he is yet to taste victory and a win here could be crucial to his title hopes ahead of his home grand prix at Zandvoort next weekend.

The Dutchman and Hamilton cannot be separated in the odds, with both evens to win at Spa in the Belgium Grand Prix betting tips.

The future of Hamilton’s team-mate Bottas hangs in the balance.

Team principal Toto Wolff said a decision would be made over the summer break, with George Russell in contention to replace the Finn who has yet to win this season.

Bottas is a massive 25/1 to end that winless run in Belgium, with Red Bull’s Sergio Perez priced at 14/1.

McLaren and Ferrari locked in midfield battle

The two giants resume their intriguing midfield battle level in the constructors’ championship on 163 points.

Ferrari carried greater momentum into the three-week break after Charles Leclerc’s second at Silverstone was followed by a third place for Carlos Sainz in Hungary – where McLaren failed to score a point.

Lando Norris has shouldered the burden for McLaren with 113 points to just 50 from his new team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.

The Australian has yet to fully get to grips with the car and is 5/2 to beat his team-mate at Spa on his 200th grand prix in the Belgium Grand Prix betting tips.

Sainz has 80 points to his name, three clear of Leclerc, with the Ferrari duo battling in a car which lacks straight-line speed.

The Scuderia won the 2018 and 2019 Belgian Grand Prixs – with Leclerc on top of the podium in 2019. The Monegasque is 40/1 for another famous win and 4/1 to be on the podium.

Ocon to back up Hungary heroics

Frenchman Esteban Ocon joined the illustrious list of Formula One race winners in Hungary, with his famous victory thanks in no small part to his team-mate Fernando Alonso holding up the charging Hamilton.

Ocon drove a brilliant race, avoiding the first-lap carnage and holding off Sebastian Vettel to secure his maiden success.

Alpine have steadily improved with Alonso claiming fourth in the race and Ocon has enjoyed Belgium before.

He qualified third at Spa with Racing Point in 2018 and finished fifth for Renault last season. A top six finish is available at 9/2 while Ocon is 14/1 for another podium in the Belgium Grand Prix betting tips.

Lewis Hamilton is the favourite along with Max Verstappen and we are backing the defending champion to triumph at the Spa.
