Following a Belgian Grand Prix which Lewis Hamilton branded “a farce”, the Formula One bandwagon rolls into Holland as we look at some Dutch Grand Prix betting tips.

Just two laps were completed behind the safety car at a rain-sodden Spa and pole-sitter Max Verstappen was awarded the victory and half points, cutting Hamilton’s championship lead to three points.

The Dutchman will be roared on by a passionate home support as F1 returns to Zandvoort for the first time since 1985 – after last season’s race was cancelled due to the pandemic – and will hope to be taking a lead into Monza next weekend.

The title battle is set to intensify once again as we pick out some Dutch Grand Prix betting tips.

Verstappen to use home advantage

Zandvoort will be a sea of orange to cheer on Verstappen as he bids to retake the lead in the championship.

It has been a long time since Hamilton and Verstappen played out a full race battle, with Hamilton’s collision with Verstappen at Silverstone followed by a first-lap crash hampering the Dutchman in Hungary before the rain at Spa.

All that means the title contest is as tight as ever and Verstappen will be determined to seize his chance to take the lead on home soil.

He is evens to qualify on pole and evens to take the win with Hamilton 13/10 to stretch his advantage again.

Race for best of the rest heating up

With Verstappen and Hamilton scrapping for top spot, the battle for third place is wide open and three drivers from three different teams are separated by just nine points.

McLaren’s Lando Norris sits third after his high-speed crash in qualifying meant he picked up no points in Spa while Hamilton’s team-mate Valtteri Bottas is five points behind in fourth and four clear of Sergio Perez in the second Red Bull.

Bottas, under pressure for his Mercedes seat for 2022, is 16/1 to pick up a first win of the season.

Norris has been consistent all season with three podiums and nine top-five finishes from 12 races. The Briton is 10/3 for another podium in Holland.

Perez has had an eventful Red Bull career so far, with his crash on the way to the grid in Spa the latest incident in a drama-packed campaign.

That came on the back of him signing a new contract for next year. He is 16/1 to claim a second win of the season and 2/1 to stand on the podium.

Can Ricciardo kick on from Spa?

The Australian has struggled to get to grips with his McLaren and trailed in the wake of team-mate Norris for much of the season.

But Ricciardo used his experience to master tricky Spa conditions by finishing fourth in qualifying.

The processional nature of the race ensured a strong points return for Ricciardo who will hope to kick on in Holland. He is 10/1 for a first podium with McLaren.

Ferrari struggled in Spa and lost a little ground to McLaren in the midfield battle. The Scuderia will want to take some momentum into Monza and are 6/4 to secure a double top-six finish.

Verdict

Max Verstappen has the hometown advantage so we are backing the Dutch to triumph at Zandvoort.
