F1 Russian Grand Prix Tips - Best bets for Sunday's race in Sochi
- 53-lap race will take place at Sochi Autodrom on Sunday (13:00 BST)
- Valtteri Bottas is the defending champion
- Lewis Hamilton won this event in 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019

Mercedes has owned the Russian Grand Prix and it looks like they’ll be front and centre again thanks to a Max Verstappen penalty.
Verstappen will serve a three-place grid penalty for his incident with Hamilton at Monza and that should hand an advantage to Mercedes, on a circuit where they don’t really need help.
Mercedes have won all seven Russian Grand Prix races held at Sochi, with Hamilton winning four times, Valtteri Bottas twice and Nico Rosberg once.
Verstappen finished second here last year behind Bottas but that was his first Sochi podium.
This has also been a decent track for Charles Leclerc, who finished third in 2019, but he will start at the back of the grid after an engine change.
Valtteri Bottas - Podium Finish (1.72)
The Finnish driver is coming off two consecutive third place finishes and given his history here at Sochi – including a win last year – only bad luck (caveat: he’s had plenty) will keep him off the podium.
Lewis Hamilton - Outright Betting (1.80)
With Verstappen facing that three-place penalty, this race is Hamilton’s to lose. This is a Mercedes friendly circuit, and you’d back the reigning champ to get it done on race day.
Valtteri Bottas - Outright Betting (10.00)
There’s plenty of value in Bottas given his extraordinary record here and the fact that he seems to be driving with a bit of weight off his shoulders after the announcement that he’ll be with Alpha Romeo next year.
Daniel Ricciardo - Top 6 Finish (2.00)
Ricciardo is coming off one of the biggest wins of his career and while a repeat is unlikely, he has finished in the top six two of the past three races, with a DNF in 2019 after a collision.
