The San Francisco 49ers are one of seven 2-0 teams, but they have hardly been overwhelmingly convincing in beating the lowly Lions (41-33) and Eagles (17-11).
Jimmy Garoppolo struggled as the Niners scratched their way to the dub in Philly.
Slaughtered 38-3 by the Saints in Week 1, the Packers bounced back with a 35-17 win over the Lions. Aaron Rodgers responded with some juicy stats (22/27, 255 yds, 4 TDs, 0 INT), picking up Aaron Jones for three touchdowns (he also rushed one in).
The 49ers have won six of their last nine against the Packers, including the 37-20 NFC Championship Game victory two seasons ago. The Packers gained some retribution for that post-season defeat last year with a 34-17 win in San Francisco, Rodgers (25/31, 305 yds, 4 TDs) in sizzling touch.
This is an ideal match for both sides to find out where they stand in the early stages of this campaign. The value in Green Bay as underdogs is impossible to ignore with Rodgers set to make the 49ers wish they had been able to pull off their mooted off-season trade for the veteran QB.
