It’s an NFC East showdown to close out Week 3, with the 1-1 Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles both looking to gain a foothold in one of the league’s less impressive divisions.

Dak Prescott produced a stellar injury comeback showing in a 31-29 Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers, while it was a 56-yard field goal that got them home in a scrappy 20-17 win over the Chargers last week.

The Eagles trounced the Falcons 35-6 in their first outing – with second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts (27/35, 264 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT) having a field day – but a 17-11 loss to the 49ers in Week 2 probably offers a more accurate projection of their 2021 fortunes.

The division rivals’ last eight encounters have gone the way of the home team. Last season the Eagles prevailed 23-9 in Philadelphia before the Cowboys ran away with a 37-17 result in Dallas. None of the teams’ last 14 meetings have been decided by margins of less than six points.

Verdict

A significantly better offensive unit and an elite QB should prove the difference in this one.
