The Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles were without Tom Trbojevic so won’t be too concerned with doing it tough against the Raiders to win 19-18.
While the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs ran closer with the Knights than many expected, the 22-16 loss makes for their 20th of the 2021 NRL season.
The Sea Eagles welcome back Tom Trbojevic while Brad Parker also makes his return after being rested. Tevita Funa and Moses Suli are the pair to make way. It’s a mess for the Bulldogs with Josh Jackson the only forward from the starting pack backing up this week.
Lachlan Lewis has also kept his spot in the halves. Although, Jake Averillo has been named on the extended bench.
Manly running out 66-0 winners the last time these two met and naming arguably a better side for this one is concerning for Canterbury. While the Bulldogs showed some bite against the Knights last week, they’ve named a different middle for Sunday.
Their attack is still the worst in the NRL with little to suggest it has improved at all throughout the year too. Outside of the possibility of the Sea Eagles bus breaking down on their way to the game and the referee kicking off without them, nothing points to anything other than this being a training run for Des Hasler’s side.
Perhaps they throw a few trick shots and try a couple of different attacking actions later in the match. The Bulldogs may get a reprieve then and start to slow the juggernaut down.
