North Queensland Cowboys vs Manly Sea Eagles Tips - Over total points expected in Townsville

  • NRL Round 25 game will take place at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on Saturday
  • The Cowboys beat the Dragons in the last round to halt a 10-game losing streak
  • The Sea Eagles have won 3 in a row and 6 of their last 7 game
  • The Sea Eagles demolished the Cowboys 50-18 in Round 14

There is no questioning the ability of Manly to compete against anyone this year. There can be some questions, however, raised about their focus and their ability to not fall into the trap of complacency.

The Sea Eagles beat the Bulldogs by 18 last week in one of the least impressive 18-point wins you will ever see. Manly jumped 34.5-point favourites but trailed for a good portion of the game as they fumbled and bumbled their way to victory.

The Cowboys come off a rare win when overcoming a halftime deficit against St George Illawarra but this is clearly a different proposition.

Manly may need to win to keep fourth spot. North Queensland have nothing but pride to play for.

There is no angle in playing the line here. The Sea Eagles should win but they have covered just two of eight as a double digit favourite. The Cowboys, however, have covered just five of 19 as an underdog and just 11 of 27 off a win.

Very keen to jump on the over here though with over angles strong on both team. Both teams are better attacking teams than defensive outfits. The over has hit in eight of the last 12 meetings between the Cowboys and the Sea Eagles. The over is 13-4 when Manly play at night and is 26-15 when Manly are favoured. The over has hit in seven of 10 when the Cowboys are off scoring 30-plus.

Verdict

The total is high in this one but the forecast is that this will sail over.
