Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin Tips, Predictions & Free Bets
Bayern start their defence of their Bundesliga title with what should be a winnable home tie for the Bavarian side. Niko Kovac’s side edged out Borrusia Dortmund in one of the tightest title chases in the division’s history last year and will want to make a statement early on this season.

Bayern Munich Form & Team News
Bayern Munich have had a fairly busy summer in the transfer window. The German champions have said goodbye to long-serving players Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben during pre-season, and James Rodrigeuz has finally returned back to parent club Real Madrid.
Summer signing Benjamin Pavard, who joined from VfB Stuttgart is likely to make his debut for the club at the back. Other summer signings Fiete Arp and Lucas Hernandez are probably going to start the game on the bench for the champions.
Bayern made their competitive start to the season away at Energie Cottbus on Monday in the DBF Cup, picking up a confident 3-1 victory. Robert Lewandowski, Kingsley Coman and Leon Goretzka all got their name on the scoresheets. Lewandowski was the Bundesliga’s top scorer last season with 22 goals.
Bayern are, unsurprisingly, strong favourites for the game. Odds available on the club are currently at 1.18 with bet365, which presents very little value.
Hertha Berlin Form & Team News
Hertha Berlin will start life in the Bundesliga under new manager Ante Covic this Friday, and the Croatian couldn’t have asked for a harder start to the campaign.
Berlin will come into the game with a little bit of confidence though. The club picked up an emphatic 5-1 victory away at Eichstätt in the DBF Cup, with club captain Vedad Ibisevic getting two of the goals in that game.
Hertha Berlin do not have the best track record playing at The Allianz Arena. The club have failed to win in 20 encounters at the stadium and have not managed to score past Bayern in their last five visits there either.
Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin Analysis- Bayern to hit the ground running
Bayern will have an eighth straight Bundesliga title in their sights when they start their new campaign. They faced a real scare from Borrusia Dortmund last time around and will want to make sure they do not make the same mistakes again this campaign.
Bayern have defeated Berlin in 14 of their last 20 outings and there is very little to suggest that Friday’s game is going to be any different at all.
Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin Tips- Handicap and Goalscorer Markets offers value
Bayern should run out comfortable winners against Hertha Berlin and that is reflected in their short odds. A -1 handicap for the German champions offers slightly better odds of 1.44. Odds of a -2 handicap are available at a more generous 2.20.
A flutter on Robert Lewandowski being first on the scoresheet also offers good value at 2.62 with bet365.
