Villarreal vs Real Madrid Tips, Predictions & Free Bets

Villarreal welcome Real Madrid to the Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday evening in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.

Los Blancos blew the chance to get back to back wins when they drew with Real Valladolid last weekend but they look well placed to bounce back from that against Villarreal.

Villarreal Form & Team News

Villarreal will come into this match attempting to get their first win of the new La Liga campaign. The club have lost one and drawn one of their opening two fixtures.

Their last match ended in a 2-1 defeat against Levante. Gerard Moreno grabbed his second goal of the campaign for the club but they were undone by two quick goals from Roger Marti in the second half.

The club have struggled to find form recently. They have won one of their last six games in La Liga. They have been an entertaining side though, and have seen over 2.5 goals in four of their last five games. Their most recent home game was a thrilling 4-4 draw with Grenada.

The Yellow Submarine have quite a lengthy injury list, with Luismi, Pablo Hervias, Pedro Porro, Ruben Alcaraz and Sandro all being doubts for the game on Sunday. Manager Javi Calleja is likely to start with a similar side to the one that lost to Levante last week, with Moreno likely to be their focal point upfront.

The club are backed at 3.88 to win the match with bet365. Real Madrid can be inconsistent but they should be able to defeat Villarreal so I wouldn’t advise backing them here.

Real Madrid Form & Team News

Real Madrid were left frustrated last week when they threw away a 1-0 lead at home to Valladolid to deny themselves a first home win of the campaign.

Zidane’s team still feel as though they undergoing some sort of transitional period and they have struggled to find consistency since the Frenchmen returned. One Frenchmen who is doing well under Zidane though is Karim Benzema, who grabbed his second goal in as many games last weekend against Valladolid.

Madrid have been inconsistent away from home. The club have only won one of their last six away from their home ground and have conceded in 12 of their last 13 fixtures when playing away.

Zidane is still wrestling with a list of injuries at Los Blancos. Eden Hazard will still be unable to play for the side after missing last week’s game. This will provide Welsh star Gareth Bale with another chance to get himself back in the manager’s good books.

The game will also take place just hours after the transfer window has closed, which means we could see some new faces on the bench for Madrid on Sunday afternoon. It could also prove to be a very frustrating weekend for the club.

Real Madrid are favourites to win the match and are priced at a healthy 1.91. There are a number of factors that could still have an impact on Sunday’s game but this is great value at the moment.

Villarreal vs Real Madrid Match Analysis - Real Madrid Win

Real Madrid were frustrated by Valladolid last week and will use that frustration in what should be a highly entertaining encounter with Villarreal.

The hosts have shown that they are capable of scoring and have done so in thier last 15 La Liga games. They are also weak at the back though which means Madrid should be able to see them off.

Villarreal vs Real Madrid - Away Win Tipped

The game between the two sides is likely to be a highly entertaining one. Sadly, there is little value to be found in either the over/under markets or the both teams to score market. Over 2.5 goals and BTTS are both valued very low at 1.44.

The best value bet to place on this game is a straight victory for Real Madrid. At 1.90, they are at very generous odds, especially given Villarreal’s recent form. A 3-2 correct score bet at 17.00 is very ambitious but is worth a small outlay.
