Luton Town Form & Team News

Luton have had a difficult start to life in the Championship. The newly-promoted side have had to face two teams who are hotly tipped to go up from the division in Cardiff and Middlesborough. Their 3-3 draw with Boro was an entertaining opening game for the division, and Luton were unlucky to lose 2-1 away at Cardiff this past weekend.

Graeme Jones's side have an incredible record at home, having not lost a league game at the stadium in over 12 months. Their only competitive defeat there came when they lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday back in the FA Cup.

Striker James Collins is going to be a key player for The Hatters this season. The former Shrewsbury and Crawley frontman grabbed 25 goals for Luton last season and wasted no time grabbing his first Championship goal against Middlesborough in the opening game of the campaign.

Luton may have come up short against Cardiff but they dominated the match for large portions and they should be able to make more use of the ball against a weaker Ipswich Town side.

Ipswich Town Form & Team News

Ipswich have adapted quickly to life in League One. After a rough year in the Championship last season, Paul Lambert's men have picked up 4 points from their opening two games in League One. Their most recent result saw them draw 1-1 at home with Sunderland.

Ipswich's on-loan winger Luke Garbutt has been the club's hero so far this season. The Everton youngster has grabbed two goals in as many games and could be pivotal to Ipswich's success this season.

The Tractor Boys will also look at striker James Norwood to deliver. The former Tranmere star bagged 30 goals last campaign but has yet to get on the scoresheet for his new team in his first two appearances.

Luton Town vs Ipswich Town Analysis - Luton to win a lively encounter

Luton were one of the most entertaining teams in League One last season, and they continued their trend in their first home game of this season.

Ipswich are also a lively attacking side. The team were left frustrated after their 1-1 draw with Sunderland but they will take plenty of confidence from the fact that they totally dominated the game. Lambert's side created an impressive 17 chances and the manager later praised their attacking style of football.

With both of these teams playing such exciting football, and Kenilworth Road being a hot-bed for goals, this one is guaranteed to be an exciting encounter. Luton's incredible home record should be enough to see them progress through.

Luton are currently valued at 1.70 with bet365, which is an excellent value bet. Ipswich are outsiders at 5.00. The Hatters are a division above Ipswich and that will have a big impact on Tuesday night's result.

Luton Town vs Ipswich Town Tips- Both teams to score

Luton and Ipswich have both grabbed attention for their attacking football this season and both teams will want to make a statement in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

Luton's last home game with Middlesborough ended 3-3 and while there may not be quite as many goals as that on Tuesday night, a bet on both teams to score at 1.80 is excellent value.

James Collins has been one of the most prolific frontmen in the Football League over the last few seasons and at 2.20 in the anytime scorer and 5.00 in the first goalscorer market, he is well worth a punt.
