Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Tips, Predictions & Free Bets

Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have both had stuttering starts to their new Premier League campaign. The two teams will meet on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

Both teams won their last games against strong opposition but a draw is my tip for the game between the two at the weekend. Bet365 are currently offering odds of 3.30 on that outcome.

Crystal Palace Form & Team News

Crystal Palace come into this game after a smash and grab 2-1 victory away at Manchester United last weekend. Jordan Ayew put the Eagles in front but they were pegged back by Daniel James. Patrick Van Aanholt then finished off an excellent counter-attacking move to win the game for Palace.

Palace have struggled for goals so far this season. Their two goals against United are the only two they bagged in league and cup so far. They were left frustrated in the English League Cup this week after a 0-0 draw with League Two Colchester United ended in a defeat on penalties.

Wilfried Zaha has received all of the attention from the media over the summer but the former Manchester United star has yet to score for the Eagles this season. He will start on Saturday alongside Christian Benteke, who has also failed to score so far.

The Eagles have been inconsistent at Selhurst Park in recent months and the side have drawn two of their last three games at the stadium. Both games ended in 0-0 draws, and were both against Everton.

Crystal Palace are priced at 2.20 to win the match on Saturday but given their inconsistent start to the season, a draw at 3.30 with bet365 is much better value.

Aston Villa Form & Team News

Aston Villa also come into this game after securing their first win in the Premier League this season. Dean Smith’s men recorded a 2-0 win at home against Everton with summer signing Wesley getting his first goal for the club.

The Villians also picked up a confident 6-1 away victory against League Two Crewe Alexandra in the League Cup this week. Smith made several changes to his side. Notable goals in the game were scored by club captain Jack Grealish and a brace from Conor Hourihane who will hope for a start against Palace now.

Aston Villa have only played one Premier League away game so far this season and they were comfortably defeated by Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 on the opening day of the season.
Despite their strong win in the week, Dean Smith won’t want to change a winning side from last week’s victory over Everton. Wesley will lead the line with John McGinn and Jack Grealish forming a formidable partnership in the centre of the park.

Aston Villa are currently priced at 3.40 to pick up the away victory on Friday. Despite having won back to back games in league and cup, Villa look as though they are going to struggle away from home.

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Match Analysis - Even Contest

Any momentum Crystal Palace had built from their Premier League victory over Manchester United last weekend was immediately taking from them when they lost to Colchester in the English League Cup.

Aston Villa themselves are going to be feeling confident following back to back wins but an away day in the Premier League is much more challenging than an away cup game against League Two opposition. Villa have been inconsistent so far this campaign, as have the hosts, and a draw looks as though it could be on the cards.

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Betting Tips - Back a draw at Selhurst Park

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have both been inconsistent so far this season and Crystal Palace are having serious problems in front of goal.

Aston Villa have scored in each of their Premier League games so far so a bet on a draw, with both teams to score and a correct score of 1-1 are my tips for the match. Both teams to score is a nice value bet with odds of 1.75, while a draw is priced at 3.30.
