Liverpool Form & Team News
Liverpool come into the game having won their first two competitve matches this season. Jurgen Klopp's men overcame a brief scare to earn a 2-1 win away at Southampton at the weekend, with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firminio getting their names on the scoresheet.
Liverpool will feel confident heading into this game. The club have an excellent record against Arsenal in recent years. Klopp's men handed out a 5-1 thrashing to Arsenal at Anfield last season, and defeated them 4-0 the season before. They also scored four goals in their last home against Norwich and will be hungry for more on Saturday.
The trio of Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino is arguably the most deadly in the division. Firmino also has a great record against Arsenal, he has scored seven goals in the last four games between the two sides at Anfield. He is currently priced at 2.20 with bet365 to get onto the scoresheet anytime on Saturday and is excellent value at 6.00 to be the first goalscorer in the game.
Liverpool will still be without injured goalkeeper Allison for the game and will once again start with Adrian in between the sticks. Klopp is likely to stick with the same eleven that won at Southampton.
Liverpool are favourites to win the game with bet365. They are currently priced at 1.45 to pick up the win, which is not particularly great value.
Arsenal Form & Team News
Arsenal have started the season strongly. The Gunners have won their opening two league matches with Pierre Aubameyang getting his name on the scoresheet in both of their games.
Liverpool will be a much tougher test for the Gunners though. Unai Emery's team have struggled at Anfield in recent years. Last year they dominated possession but were constantly undone at the back by Liverpool's attacking onslaught. Defence will have to be their priority on Saturday evening.
Emery handed a full debut to David Luiz last week and will likely start the Brazilian again against Liverpool. Pepe may also be handed a start after being give a full half against Burnley last weekend. Emery will want the team to have as much firepower as possible at their disposal.
The Gunners are priced all the way out at 5.45 to pick up the win at Anfield. There is very little value in this given their recent form at the ground.
Liverpool vs Arsenal Analysis - Arsenal still behind the top two
While Arsenal have looked strong in their opening two games, they are still some way behind Man City and Liverpool. Saturday will be a prime example of that, as Liverpool are likely to pick up another victory against Unai Emery's team.
Both teams have scored in encounters between the two sides in five of their last six meetings though, and given the firepower, both teams have at their disposal, there is likely to be plenty of goals in this one. The last six encounters between the two sides has produced a stunning 30 goals, which is an average of five goals per game.
Liverpool vs Arsenal Tips - Plenty of goals at Anfield
Games between these two sides have a strong record of producing goals. Both teams have scored in five of their last six encounters at the stadium, and given the fact that all three of last season's top scorers are on the pitch, betting on both teams to score feels like a safe bet.
Our other tip for betting on this match is to back Roberto Firmino in the goalscoring market. The Brazilian has a brilliant record against Arsenal having scored in his last four games against the North London club at Anfield. He is great value in the first and anytime goalscorer markets.
