Wolves Form & Team News
Wolves arrive in Sunday's game after defeating Torino 3-2 away on Thursday night. Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez got on the scoresheet for the club after an early own goal from Torino.
Wolves are yet to win a game in the Premier League this season. They drew 0-0 with Leicester on the opening day and drew 1-1 with Manchester United in their first home game. They are on an excellent run of form at Molineux though. The West Midlands based club are unbeaten in 15 home games in all competitions and have won 12 of those games.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been forced to rotate his team in recent weeks to accommodate the busy Europa League schedule and he will probably make a few changes once again on Sunday. Ruben Neves, who grabbed a stunning goal for the club against Manchester United earlier this week will likely return to the team after being rested against Torino, though, Jota and Jimenez will probably continue to start up top.
Burnley Form & Team News
Burnley have had a good start to their new campaign. The Clarets smashed Southampton 3-0 on the opening day, with Ashley Barnes notably grabbing a brace in a lively display. That was followed by a 2-1 defeat away at Arsenal, with Barnes once again impressing and grabbing a goal.
Sean Dyche's men have looked strong so far this season but their form from the back-end of last season doesn't look so good. Combined with the Arsenal loss, they have lost four of their last five Premier League games and have lost four of their last six away games.
Sean Dyche is a manager of routine, and he has named the same starting 11 for the last two games. Given that there are no injuries or suspensions, it seems unlikely he will make any changes now. Nick Pope will continue to hold his number 1 spot after two solid displays while Barnes and Chris Wood will lead the line.
Burnley are priced at 4.50 with bet365 to pick up the win, which is a fair price given their poor form away from home. A draw is priced at 3.40.
Wolves vs Burnley Analysis - Wolves managing Europe well
Last season Burnley buckled under the pressure of having to juggle a busy European campaign and their Premier League season. Wolves have done the opposite so far and have picked up excellent results against Torino and Manchester United this week.
Nuno's team have some very experienced players who have demonstrated that they are capable of delivering on the European stage when needed. He has also shown a willingness to rotate and rest players and that has stood his side in good stead.
Burnley will prove to be their toughest test yet though, as Torino have been a step up in quality compared to the other sides they've faced and Nuno may not be able to rest as many players for the return leg. They should still have enough quality in their team, combined with home advantage, to pick up the win here.
Wolves vs Burnley Tips - Back the Home Team
Wolves will come into this game full of confidence after great performances against much stronger opposition than Burnley so far this week. The Clarets will put up a fight and may be slightly fresher than Nuno's men, but a home victory is tipped at 1.85 with bet365.
Raul Jimenez to build on his goal in the week against Torino is also good value in the anytime goalscorer market at 2.40 with bet365, and he is available in the first goalscorer market at 5.00.
