AIK Form & Team News

The reigning Swedish champions were lucky to only lose 2-0 against Celtic last week and will have to be more attack-minded if they are to progress in the competition.

Their home-form so far this season has not been great. Rikard Norling’s side have only won two of their last five home games and have only won one of their last four home games in the Europa League.

They picked up a strong 3-1 victory away at Ostersunds this past weekend. Anton Saletros, Rasmus Lindkvist, and Heradi Rashidi were all on the scoresheet for the club.

The team played a 5-3-2 against Celtic last week with two attacking wingbacks and are likely to play the same 11 again on Thursday night. The home side are priced at 3.20 with bet365 to win the match.

Celtic Form & Team News

After throwing away Champions League qualification against Cluj a few weeks ago, Celtic will ensure a safe passage into the Europa League. The Hoops lead 2-0 from the first leg thanks to Jamie Forrest and Odsonne Edouard and an away goal here would really give them a cushion.

They followed up last week’s win against AIK with a convincing 3-1 win against Hearts at the weekend.

Celtic have only lost one of their last 12 fixtures and have won nine of those games. Celtic are also on good form away from home in Europe. Neil Lennon’s side have won two of their three European away games so far, defeating Sarajevo and Nomme Kalju before drawing 1-1 away at Cluj in Romania.

Lennon will want to put out his strongest starting 11 for the game. Eduoard was rested for the game against Hearts but will no doubt be back in the team alongside Ryan Christie up top. Jamie Forrest, who has grabbed four goals in his last five games, will also be a key component for Celtic on Thursday night.

Celtic are excellent value for the win at 2.25, especially given the comfortable nature of their win last week and their good form away from home in Europe.

AIK vs Celtic Match Analysis - Celtic to secure the Europa League

Celtic will feel confident coming into this game after back to back wins and with Eduoard rested up, they should be able to continue to dominate AIK. The Swedish side were outplayed at Celtic Park and the home side could have grabbed a few more goals.

Norling’s side were too defensive in the away leg and they will have to attack more if they are to stand a chance in the second leg. This could end up leaving them exposed to Celtic’s strong attack though.

AIK vs Celtic Betting Tips - Back Celtic for a win

The winners market in this has Celtic priced at 2.25 to win the game, which is an excellent value bet, especially given their form away from home in Europe. A repeated 2-0 scoreline from last week’s match is also available at a very healthy 10.00.
