This weekend, Marco Silva takes his Everton side to Selhurst Park to take on Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace in their opening Premier League fixture.

Everton have been busy over the transfer window and will have a spot in Europe in their crosshairs this season. Crystal Palace have seen their squad attract a lot of interest over the summer, and they could even lose one of their star players to Everton before the match kicks off on Saturday afternoon.

Everton Form & Team News

Everton completed one of the most eye-catching signings of the summer last week when they managed to bring in Juventus Moise Kean. The 19-year-old Italian bagged 7 goals in 16 games for Juventus and is tipped to be one of the next big stars of European football.

Kean is likely to make his debut for the side on Sunday, but it looks as though Everton fans will have to wait for signing, Fabian Delph to make his league debut for the club after the former Man City star picked up an injury in a pre-season game against Werder Bremen.

The Toffees have had a mixed pre-season. While they have not been on the end of any crushing defeats, they have only scored once in five pre-season outings, a worrying statistic for the club’s supporters heading into the opening day.

Crystal Palace Form & Team News

Crystal Palace have had a difficult pre-season. The club lost Michy Batshuayi back to Chelsea and Arron Wan-Bissaka has made a big-money move to Manchester United.

On top of that, it remains to be seen as to whether Wilfred Zaha will still be a Crystal Palace player by the time the first ball of the season is kicked, with Everton and Arsenal both being heavily linked.

Roy Hodgson is an experienced manager though, and he will understand what is required of him to keep Palace in the division this season.

The club are facing no new injury concerns heading into the match, and they could hand a debut to former Chelsea star, Gary Cahill, who joined the club earlier this week.

Palace have had a pre-season of extremes, with notable hammerings at the hands of Barnet and Hertha Berlin, and then a 5-0 victory away at hotly tipped Bristol City.

Pre-season results count for very little, but Palace’s inconsistency may be cause for concern for Hodgson.

Crystal Palace vs Everton- Few goals expected

Crystal Palace have failed to beat Everton in any of their last nine encounters with the team and given their pre-season woes, it seems unlikely that that is going to change on Saturday afternoon.

Marco Silva’s men will want to build on their eighth-place finish from last campaign and push for a spot in Europe and will be looking at new signing, Moise Kean to boost their poor goalscoring form.

In what is likely to be a tight encounter, Everton look the more promising of the two teams, with Palace potentially facing a very long season ahead.

Crystal Palace vs Everton Tips- Everton correct score offers great value

Neither of these teams have particularly impressed in front of goal in pre-season, and given the fact that Everton have not lost any of their previous nine games against Palace, this one has a tight Everton victory written all over it.

Everton are currently priced at 2.37 with Bet365, which is a really great value bet. Those who are feeling a bit more ambitious can get odds on a correct score of 1-0 Everton at 8.00 with Bet365 as well.

One of the most interesting markets to keep an eye on will be Wilfred Zaha anytime scorer. The former Manchester United winger could line up for either one of these sides on Saturday afternoon, with Everton looking to sign him. He is currently at 4.00 with Bet365.

Verdict

With neither team impressing in pre-season, Everton's encounter with Palace will be short on goals. Everton have a good record at Selhurst Park though, and they should have enough to pick up the three points.

Best Bet: Everton to win @ 2.37 at bet365 - 2 Units
Correct Score Tip: Everton 1-0 @ 8.00 at bet365 - 1 Unit
Anytime scorer tip: Wilfred Zaha @ 4.00 at bet365 - 5 Units
